BATIR — Website for a Heavy Transport Company

2026WebUX/UI

Context

BATIR is a European heavy transport company specializing in oversized and project cargo across the EU. The company operated several separate websites for different countries, which had been created at different times.

Problem

Because the websites were developed separately, the structure, content, and visual presentation were inconsistent. This made it difficult to clearly present the company's services, fleet, and international presence.

Task

My task was to merge everything into one platform while keeping their existing brand style. The client did not have a clear product structure or specification.

My role

I was responsible for designing the website structure and visual interface, and preparing the final layouts for development.

A bit of Research

Since this is a fairly niche B2B field, I decided to focus on potential clients such as logistics company managers and freight forwarders. Luckily, I knew someone in this role, so I conducted a short interview with him to understand what they expect to find on a transport company's website. After the interview, it became clear that they don't come to the website to "explore" the company. They usually already know what they're looking for:

What matters

  1. quickly understand if the company can handle their specific type of cargo
  2. to understand if they have own vehicles
  3. real photos of completed projects as proof of experience
  4. find contacts immediately

UI Solution

  1. clear operating sectors + examples of cargo types directly on the homepage
  2. clear statement in the hero + separate fleet gallery page
  3. gallery of real executed projects
  4. persistent contact CTA in header, simple quote form, contacts on every page

I also conducted a competitor analysis to understand what design approaches they use and then moved on to the design phase. Then I created three versions of the homepage hero section, and after the client selected one of them, I proceeded with the full website design. Once all pages were ready, I presented them to the client. We made a few text adjustments, and the final layouts were then handed over for development.

Grow Space For Product

  • Users can check where their shipment is directly on the website through integration with tracking systems, without needing to contact the company.
  • A quick way to ask questions or get help without filling out forms or calling.
  • Simple client account where they can see sent requests and check shipment status.
  • Instead of just a form, users can get a rough price or feasibility instantly based on basic parameters (size, weight, route).
